Licensing and terms
These are the terms for everything you create with FidgetMaker. They apply now, during the beta, and stay the same at launch. The tier you hold decides what you may do with the files you generate.
Explorer and Maker Lifetime: personal use
- Print anything you make for yourself, your family and friends. No selling.
- Maker Lifetime may share finished generated files for free, with the credit "Made with FidgetMaker".
Merchant Lifetime: sell physical prints
- Sell your physical prints anywhere: Etsy, markets, commissions.
- No per-unit fees, no royalties.
- Physical prints only. Selling the digital design files is not included; that is the Designer tier.
- Free sharing of generated files stays allowed, with the FidgetMaker credit.
Designer Lifetime: sell prints and digital files
- Everything in Merchant, plus the right to sell the finished generated model files (Patreon, Gumroad and similar).
- Sell and use the image files themselves as products: artwork, stickers, merch and more.
- No FidgetMaker attribution required.
Library images
Images from FidgetMaker's own design library may be used under every tier, and Merchant and Designer tiers may sell prints made from them without any extra fee.
Your images, your responsibility
- You decide what you upload. FidgetMaker does not review uploads and cannot check who owns an image.
- Whatever you upload, print, share or sell, you are solely responsible for having the necessary rights to it. That includes copyrighted characters, trademarked logos and other people's artwork or photos.
- FidgetMaker is not responsible for third-party claims arising from your use of the service, and you agree to indemnify and hold FidgetMaker harmless against such claims, including reasonable legal costs.
- Content that is unlawful to produce or distribute is not allowed on the service, and accounts used for that can be closed.
What stays FidgetMaker's
The FidgetMaker software, the toy mechanisms, the generator and its output formats, the design library and the FidgetMaker name remain FidgetMaker's property. Your license covers the files you generate, not the tool that makes them. You may not resell access to the service or present the generator as your own.
No warranty
Generated files are provided as they are. Print results depend on your printer, filament, slicer settings and the image you start from, and a test print is always a good idea. To the extent permitted by law, FidgetMaker accepts no liability for failed prints, printer damage or consequential loss; liability for intent, gross negligence, and injury to life, body or health remains unaffected.
Payments, refunds and cancellation
- Campaign pledges are made on MakerWorld and follow MakerWorld's rules, including whatever cancellation window MakerWorld gives you while the campaign runs.
- Once your reward has been delivered and your access is unlocked, it is not refundable. Your statutory rights as a consumer remain unaffected.
- If you are a consumer in the EU you have a 14-day right of withdrawal for distance purchases. By asking for your access to be unlocked right away you agree that we start immediately: for one-off digital content your right of withdrawal then ends (§ 356(5) BGB), and for ongoing access you pay a proportionate amount for the time and the exports used up to your withdrawal (§ 357a BGB). If you withdraw before anything was unlocked, you are refunded in full.
- Any refund we grant voluntarily beyond your statutory rights is at our discretion and may be reduced by payment processing fees and by the value of exports or features already used.
- Explorer is a one-year pass, not a subscription: it does not renew and you are never charged again. The Lifetime tiers are a single payment. Nothing on this site bills you automatically.
- Accounts used for unlawful content or to circumvent these terms can be closed without a refund.
Changes
These terms may be updated for future versions of the service. A tier you have backed keeps the rights you bought with it. Questions: [email protected].
